My first antivirus was a Norton product. It came with the computer system I purchased years ago. The Norton software was labor intensive and really slowed my computer. I removed it and replaced it with a program made by another company. It has probably been 10-15 years since that first encounter with Norton, and while I was still a little concerned about purchasing the Symantic/Norton product recently, I am pleasantly surprised. It is less-intrusive than the fairly decent program I have been using for five years and thus far seems to be performing on a par if not better. I guess I would advise previously disgruntled Norton users to give it a try. It is working for me.
