Good Review :
Easily upgraded my nearly 4 year old Intel iMac to Snow Leopard. Computer runs great and the upgrade process was easy and flawless. I really like the new features available in Snow Leopard such as "Time Machine". I'm glad I upgraded.
Bad Reviews :
I wanted to upgrade my OS and iWork and iLife suites to take advantage of the technology. After reading many reviews here on Amazon (and never seeing similar reviews on the Apple store website), I took the popular advice and backed up my system with Time Machine before installing anything. With over 26,000 pictures on my drive, I didn't want to lose anything. I installed Snow Leopard first, and it was relatively quick and painless. iWork was next, thinking I would attack the buggy iLife last. Again, no problem with installation. iLife took a bit, and restarted the computer several times. Again heeding advice, I installed updates prior to opening and using iLife, particularly iPhoto. As it turned out, every program required more updates and restarts upon opening. The only issue I'm having thus far with iPhoto is that my pictures are a bit out of order, but still grouped properly, and the Faces program is fairly tedious, but overall will pay off nicely once all the pictures are tagged properly. I am noticing my computer running a bit slower than usual, and I will continue to monitor my system. GarageBand additions are pretty cool and will come in handy, like the guitar and artist lessons. New templates for Pages are good, and the addition of the App Store with OS X is awesome, really bringing my desktop in line with my iPhone. The box set could be a little cheaper for what you get, if you've had previous versions, but still a decent buy.
